dior homme by hedi slimane a/w 2007 “navigate” three button blazer
An archetype of Slimane design, razor shape narrow tailoring with shrunken proportions. The DH blazers of the era defined a generation of men’s silhouettes, and this season featured a great version of his take on the classic garment. This version is in the super 120s plain weave wool and is fully canvased, I appreciate how stripped down these were, removing the flap of the double welt pockets, no besom closures inside, single vented, just great minimalist blazers. I love the three button look of the jacket and the squared strong, slim shoulders with the slim sleeve head at the armhole. Additionally this seasons campaign featured imagery inspired by American artist Robert Longo’s Men In The Cities series, which I personally love.
